Business Development Manager DACH Region
We are looking for a senior sales professional with international experience, who will be responsible for all the direct sales of our research and consulting services to Billion-€-Plus companies in the DACH region. The BDM will have an assigned quota that requires generating and closing new business opportunities. Direct report to the Managing Director Europe, Middle East & Africa. This position requires extensive traveling (30% to 40% of the time, also outside the DACH region). Working language is English.
Responsibilities:
- Target and sell to senior management (Director, VP, C-level) on the R&D, Business Development, Corporate Venturing, Strategy and M&A side at prospect and clients.
- Maintain an appropriate and accurate sales pipeline of approximately four times quarterly quota, with accurate pipeline information.
- Develop a complete understanding of Client’s full array of research and consulting offerings.
- Understand the changing business and technology issues, needs and wants of our (potential) clients in the DACH region.
- Develop client strategies that positions client as a strategic resource.
Communicate professionally to both internal and external audiences.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years demonstrated sales success, selling and servicing research & consulting services to Billion-€-Plus clients in the DACH region.
- Proven experience in new-business development, achieving quota and managing personal sales strategies in the DACH region.
- Ability to communicate with and convince C-level executives
- Deep affinity and intellectual curiosity with the impact of emerging technology on organizations of all kinds. Content focused.
- Successfully having worked at a start-up and a Fortune 500 company is a major plus.
- Willingness to make a difference.
- High cognitive ‘clock speed’.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and German. Ability to speak articulately and with situational fluency.
- Effective organization and time management skills. Ability and willingness to make cold calls.
- Eagerness to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving, entrepreneurial environment.
- A good sense of humor is a major plus.
