IFA: Toshiba kondigt high-end 3dtv met nieuwe engine aan
Toshiba heeft een hd-televisie aangekondigd met een nieuwe beeld-engine. Deze zogeheten Cevo-engine maakt naast de weergave van 3d-beelden onder meer het opnemen van uitzendingen mogelijk en biedt toegang tot onlinediensten. De eerste televisie met de nieuwe Cevo-engine is de 55ZL1, een lcd-tv met een resolutie van 1920 bij 1080 beeldpunten en een verversingsfrequentie van 400Hz. Het toestel, met een beelddiagonaal van 55 inch, heeft een led-backlight dat door 512 clusters wordt verzorgd.

Het is bekend dat Microsoft altijd in het najaar komt met een grootse update van Xbox Live. Er worden nieuwe onderdelen toegevoegd, verwijderd of verbeterd. Dit jaar gaat sowieso de kwaliteit van het geluid van de headset van de Xbox360 omhoog. Dit is mogelijk vanwege de toename van bandbreedte waarmee mensen online games spelen. Toen de Xbox360 op de markt werd gebracht maakte Microsoft gebruik van een codec met een lage bit snelheid.
